3 steps to clean the inlet filter
Since the inlet filter captures all contaminants, it may become dirty, and a clogged filter will not be able to suck in air or filter the sucked air properly. The general rule is to clean the inlet of the oxygen concentrator for filtration once a week, but you should check the equipment manual for the manufacturer’s recommendations. If you find any buildup or recently went to a place with too much dust, you may need to clean the filter additionally.
Step 1: Locate and remove the filter. The filter is usually located on the side or back of the machine, but please consult the manual to determine its location and how to remove it correctly.
Please note, never run the oxygen generator without a filter installed. If you need to use the machine when cleaning the filter, insert a spare filter. Continue to use the replacement filter, rotating both filters at the same time until it needs to be replaced.
Step 2: Run the filter under warm tap water. Just rinse off all these particles with tap water. No soap is needed-the wrong soap, such as hand soap, may even leave a film-but for particularly stubborn spots, use a small amount of mild dish soap. To use detergent, add a small amount and gently rub it into the filter with your fingers under running water.
The filter is dirty and may require more attention. Fill a small bathtub with hot water and a small amount of dish soap. Immerse the filter in the bucket and shake it gently to remove particles. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to scrub until clean.
Step 3: Let the filter dry. Put the air intake filter on a clean, well-ventilated paper towel and keep it away from pets or curious fingers. Before reinserting the filter into the machine, make sure that the filter is completely dry.
You can also spend some time checking the wear of the filter as it dries. If you see things like small cracks or wear, it's time to replace the filter. This filter usually lasts six months to a year, and you should always have at least one or two backup filters. Check the manual to ensure that the filter is replaced and cleaned at the recommended interval.
